BNG Bank awarded C Prime sustainability rating by ISS-oekom

In December 2016, BNG Bank has been awarded a C 'prime' rating by ISS-oekom research AG, one of the world's leading rating agencies on sustainable investments. Institutions are qualified as 'prime' when achieving or exceeding the minimum sustainability performance requirements in their industries. Prime companies rank among the leaders in that industry.
According to ISS-oekom, BNG Bank's strong points are the bank's lending to companies and projects with high social benefits and the bank's socially and sustainable responsible investment (SRI) loan programmes. BNG Bank is also praised for its corporate governance and its social policy towards employees.
Main areas for development are implementing explicit and comprehensive general environmental and social guidelines into BNG Bank's credit process towards clients and policies for BNG Bank's own investment portfolio.
Please note that measures taken by BNG Bank after April 2016, including a more strict sustainability policy, are not taken into account in the research.
