New buildings for Ons Middelbaar Onderwijs

28 June 2017 - Quality education (SDG 4)

BNG Bank has provided around € 45 million in financing to the Ons Middelbaar Onderwijs association (OMO) for a range of property investments, resulting from progressive decentralisation contracts (DDCs). Under the DDCs, schools are responsible for sustainable new construction, using previously-agreed annual allowances from the municipality.

OMO in Tilburg is the governing body for many secondary schools in Brabant. The schools provide education ranging from preparatory secondary vocational education (VMBO) to pre-university education (VWO). Many schools also offer practical education and learning pathway support education.

Healthy learning environment

To ensure a sustainably-built school stays sustainable, it needs a healthy indoor climate. This means that attention must be given to air, light, sound and so on during construction.
