Soft point at Rijsoord Football Club

This summer, Rijsoord Football Club in Ridderkerk installed so-called Softs Points - Surface of Things - at the edge of their football field. With these Softs panels, the club is killing three birds with one stone: billboard, solar panel and polluted air absorption in a single system.

The municipality of Ridderkerk and Softs, a company from Sliedrecht, help local sports clubs save energy and become more sustainable by installing Softs Points. Softs stands for 'Surface Of Things' and refers to a three-sided rotating chassis. On the chassis sit triangular panels that can be used for compensation, communication or an environmental application. The interior of the chassis can also be used. Softs Points can also be installed on façades or roofs.

Cutting energy costs

With energy sponsorship, public sector organisations are sponsored to take certain measures without having to invest money themselves. These measures increase their sustainability and reduce their costs. Rijsoord Football Club can have the system act as a billboard during matches. If the sun is shining, they can generate electricity. When it is cloudy, the panels are flipped over to absorb polluted air. The Softs Point has a text display, enabling it to be used by Rijsoord's young players for technique and game training.
