Westland town hall
- Sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11), Affordable and clean energy (SDG 7)
DBFMO-Contract
This innovative approach was set out in a DBFMO contract with the De Groene Schakel BV consortium. BNG Bank took care of the 'F' in 'DBFMO' (i.e. the Finance). The Groene Schakel consortium will manage Westland's municipal administrative centre for the next 25 years.>
The centre consists of two buildings in Naaldwijk, 800 metres apart. The designs for a public and administrative centre in Verdilaan and a separate building for municipal officials in Laan van de Glazen Stad were characterised by the abundant use of glass. Construction work on the sustainable, energy-neutral buildings, which feature LED lighting and 800 solar panels on the roof to supply energy, began on 18 May 2016. The municipality moved into its new offices on 1 July 2017.

We are the bank for the Dutch public sector and we are driven by social impact. We aim to be a natural partner for our clients by helping them addressing the social challenges they have to cope with. Instead of maximising profits, our priority is to maximise the social impact of our activities.
