Today: International SDG Flag Day

Seventeen goals that guide us toward a more inclusive, just and sustainable society by 2030. Based on our commitment to five of the 17 SDG goals, we too, among other organizations, municipalities, businesses, civic organizations and schools, are raising the SDG flag today, to show that we are part of this global movement.

This day is an initiative of SDG Netherlands, VNG, Global Compact Network Netherlands and the central government, aimed at showing each other and the world that we are committed to the SDG goals. The 17 SDG goals were established by the UN in 2015 as a call to action for all countries - rich and poor - to end extreme poverty, inequality, injustice and climate change. The goals embrace all relevant themes and are all interconnected. They provide a colorful compass for making a difference and are all reflected on the SDG flag that is raised today.
